After impressing against Leeds on Monday night, Liverpool will be desperate to get some momentum going in their coming fixtures.

Jurgen Klopp's side followed their 7-0 victory over Manchester United with an underwhelming run, and a repeat would dent their European hopes. However, with games against strugglers Nottingham Forest and West Ham in the coming days, there is a chance to put some pressure on the top four.

The results in the coming weeks could play a big part when it comes to the Reds' transfer business over the summer. Here are the latest lines from around Anfield.

Murphy's Mount claim

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes a move for Mason Mount would represent good value for the Reds. Chelsea midfielder Mount is out of contract in 2024, and there have been suggestions the London club could instead cash in this summer.

"I think they [Liverpool] need two or three [new midfield players]," Murphy told talkSPORT. “Ox [Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain] will go, [James] Milner will go, [Naby] Keita will go.

"Mount would be good value because he's got a year left. You're not going to have to pay silly money for him."

Leao on future

Portuguese forward Rafael Leao has left the door ajar for an AC Milan exit, though he insists he wants to remain at the San Siro. "I want to stay here at Milan, yes — but there are some things to resolve," he told Sky Sport Italia after Milan knocked Napoli out of the Champions League.

"I’m still under contract for one more year, we’re in talks. I feel at home at AC Milan. I’m so, so happy to be here. What matters most now is that we're in the semi-finals, it's a great season and I want to continue helping the team."

Leao, who has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, played a big part in his team's European triumph, with his run helping set up Olivier Giroud for what proved to be the decisive goal in Naples. Milan will play neighbours Inter in the semi-finals after Simone Inzaghi's team beat Benfica 5-3 on aggregate.

Allen sparks brawl

Joe Allen was at the centre of a brawl in a Championship game between current club Swansea and Preston North End. Allen, who spent several years at Liverpool after being signed by Brendan Rodgers, was involved in a confrontation with visiting manager Ryan Lowe, prompting around 30 players and staff members to get involved.

Despite the red card, though, Swans boss Russell Martin praised the midfielder's performance. Welsh international Allen scored one of his team's goals in a 4-2 win - his first since moving back to the Liberty Stadium over the summer.

"I'm so disappointed how the night ends, because all he was doing was trying to get the attention of the fourth official," Martin said. "The game probably should have been stopped, Jay Fulton takes a head injury... a head injury should probably stop the game, but it doesn't, so it can be avoided, and then Ryan pushes Joe and chaos ensues."
