Arsenal will be aiming to get their battle for the Premier League title back on track on Friday evening as they take on Southampton.

The Gunners welcome the division’s bottom club to the Emirates Stadium in a game that represents a huge moment in their hopes of beating Manchester City to the title. Mikel Arteta’s men have a four-point buffer between themselves and their nearest rivals but have to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

With just a day to go until that game, take a look at all of the headlines coming out of the red and white side of North London over the past 24 hours.

Another Saliba blow

Arsenal once again look set to be without the services of defender William Saliba for this Friday’s clash with Southampton.

The Gunners havenot been able to call upon the Frenchman for the last four matches as he attempts to overcome a back issue and have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those. According to reports , the former Saint-Etienne starlet is 'unlikely' to make an appearance at St Mary’s.

Ferdinand makes Man Utd point

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that former club Manchester United could be set for a “better season” than Arsenal even if they finish behind the North London side.

Speaking on his Vibe with Five podcast, the six-time Premier League winner said: "If Arsenal don't win the league and Man Utd finish third and just the one trophy [the Carabao Cup] they have had a better season.

"If you're a player, forget fans, and you finish third and win a trophy, Carabao Cup whatever it is and the team above you finish second and win no trophies, who is the happier player?"
