A woman has been left practically beetroot red after realising she'd been inadvertently flashing her neighbours, after trying so hard herself to get a bit of privacy.

Mortified TikTok user Lauren says she could "now fry an egg on her face" after realising to her absolute horror that she'd been giving her neighbours an eyeful of her chest.

According to Lauren, she was sick of people having a nosy through her window, so decided to invest in some mirrored film from eBay to stop them from being able to see in. Little did she know it would backfire big time.

In a TikTok video that has left followers howling, Lauren - who goes by the username @lauren1084 - explained: "I don't know what to tell you. I live in a terraced house, I've got no front garden so people just go past my house anytime they want to.

"And sometimes they like to have a quick look in, being nosey bastards, and a lot of times they found me on the sofa looking like some sort of melted person just watching something on TV."

The mirrored film she'd purchased meant she'd still be able to see out of the window, but - crucially - nosey passersby wouldn't be able to see in.

Having initially been as pleased as punch with her buy, Lauren sighed: "You know, like protecting my modesty," she said. "I was incredibly proud of myself and sent everyone pictures…"

In the rib-tickling vid, which has clocked up 32.3K likes and counting, Lauren shared a pic of the filmed window, demonstrating how it reflected the street back at those walking by, leaving them "unable to see a thing". Unfortunately, she soon learned that it only worked during the day.

One evening, Lauren had been sat at home on the sofa, when she realised she had a spot on her chest. Thinking nobody could possibly see in, she started having a proper look at it.

She continued: "I sat there with my boob out and sort of being quite smug thinking well people can't see in and stuff. I've been staring at people in the past being a proper nosey b****.

"Someone was having a conversation outside and I just sat near the window. I think you know what's coming…"

Lauren then shared a second snap of the window, this time showing how people could "totally see in" after dark. Her followers have since been left in stitches at the blunder, and many say they'd have done the exact same thing.

One person chuckled: "Oh girl don't worry you probably gave someone a smile or a laugh. I once flashed my neighbours during lockdown stood at the window clapping for NHS."

Another guffawed: "That has absolutely cracked me up. As someone that often forgets to close curtains and probably scars my neighbours for life, I sympathise."
