Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has given Lamar Jackson an indication that he should continue to hold out for the big pay day that he's looking for.
The Baltimore Raven s and Jackson have been in communications on a contract extension for over 18 months now, but have yet to come to an agreement.
Jackson has been embroiled in a dispute with the Ravens after reportedly wanting a similar contract to the one Deshaun Watson was given by the Cleveland Browns. Watson signed a $250m deal with the Browns - which was fully guaranteed.
But after being frustrated by the Ravens not meeting his demands and again placing the non-exclusive franchise tag on him, Jackson announced that he had requested a trade away from the team.
Although Jackson has not received any offers from teams outside of the Ravens, it does not yet appear that the quarterback will happily return to the team - holding out for the deal he deserves. And Prescott has backed Jackson to be given that deal, with the 2019 MVP still technically on his rookie deal.

Speaking to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Prescott said: "I support those guys getting their money. Hopefully he’s next, and he tops Jalen."
The latter part of his quotes had been in reference to the Philadelphia Eagles making Jalen Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history - after he was given a $255 million deal to remain with the team.
Lamar Jackson is still holding up for his extensionHurts guided the Eagles to a Super Bowl in his third season in the league, taking a huge step up from what he had shown in his first two seasons.
The contract will only likely infuriate Jackson further though, with Hurts being drafted two years after Hurts and still getting his extension before him.
Hurts' deal will now likely be seen as the basis for elite quarterbacks when discussing their deals, with Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa and Jackson all likely to be extended within the next few months.
