Lisa Marie Presley 's ex-husband Michael Lockwood is said to be "ready, able and willing" to protect the pair's twin daughters.
It comes as a judge ruled Michael will be 14-year-old Harper and Finley's legal guardian following the singer's death in January.
It's thought the outcome of the cases was the opposite of what the late daughter of rock 'n' roll icon Elvis Presley wanted, but Michael was given guardianship on Thursday after LA judge Lynn Healey Scaduto granted his request.
And now Michael's lawyer, Scott Rahn, has defiantly said his client is "ready, able, and willing to protect their interests" following the outcome.
Rahn told the judge: "Lockwood has a good, collegial, familial relationship with all of the parties involved. He is not only legally bound but also morally bound to protect [the twins’] interests."

Lisa Marie Presley with Michael LockwoodIt had earlier been reported that Michael hadn't been invited to the funeral of Lisa Marie following her death at the age of 54. It's said he was able to attend the ceremony after Lisa Marie's mum, Priscilla Presley granted him access.
The star's sudden death rocked the industry after she suffered a cardiac arrest just days after appearing at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills.
It remains unclear as to whether she left any information on who would care for the teens in the event of her passing.
Lisa Marie and Michael had been married for a decade before she filed for divorce in 2016.

The case was heard by Lisa Marie’s attorney, Gary Fishbein, in March. He explained he felt the case should be dismissed as his client is "sadly no longer with us".
Unless a family member disputes the ruling to grant Michael legal guardianship, he will have full custody. Along with guardianship, the ruling will give the guitarist the right to represent the girls in an ongoing probate case over their mother’s multi-million dollar trust.
