AFC Wrexham fans are cautiously bracing themselves for a return to the Football League, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are already celebrating promotion after the women's side clinched their place in the Genero Adran Premier next season.
After Wrexham women clinched the Genero Adran North title, they faced a winner-takes-all promotion play-off against Briton Ferry on Sunday. Rebecca Pritchard became the hero after scoring the only goal of the game with just 15 minutes remaining, and Wrexham women will now compete in the top division of women's football in Wales next season.
Since Reynolds and McElhenney took over Wrexham in 2021 they've given the Welsh side a major lift, and the club as a whole have gone from strength-to-strength. The women's side have completed their mission for this season, and now the Hollywood stars will be hoping that the men's side can follow suit.
It's been a record breaking year for Wrexham all round, as the women crushed their division while the men's side have reached over 100 points in the National League. They're now just three games away from securing the title and returning to the Football League, maintaining a one-point gap over chasers Notts County.
Wrexham have a game in hand on their rivals, meaning that their fate could be sealed before the end of the season. But they will have been given a lift by the success of the women's side, and now McElhenney and Reynolds have even more reason to celebrate.

After the women's side clinched promotion, McElhenney tweeted: "ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. CONGRATULATIONS @WrexhamAFCWomen!!!!!!! It capped off a brilliant birthday weekend for the co-owner, who was given a very strange present by Reynolds on Friday.
Reynolds released a song for McElhenney's birthday, clarifying to fans all over the world how to correctly pronounce the name 'McElhenney'. His song has since gone viral with the help of a hilarious music video, and it's also been released on Spotify.
The Deadpool star even challenged Wrexham fans to learn the words, as he added: "Would be a real shame if this became @wrexham_afc Racecourse chant." But one thing that the Wrexham fans will be dreaming of chanting is 'champions', and they're edging ever closer.
The task for Wrexham is simple, and that's to better the results of Notts County between now and the end of the season. They were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw on Saturday while their rivals won 3-0 later than day, but the title - and promotion - is still in their hands.
