Lewis Capaldi has opened up about his girlfriend for the first time, saying she makes him a "happy chappy".
The hit singer, 26, went public with his Scottish actress and model partner Ellie MacDowall, 23, at the BRIT Awards back in February.
The Someone You Loved star has been keeping his beau out of the public eye, but has recently opened up on their romance.
Chart-topper Lewis said: "I have a girlfriend and that’s going really well, I am happy chappy, she’s a lovely lady I feel good about everything.”
He also revealed his new single Wish You the Best is a break-up song following his time with Love Island winner Paige Turley, 25.

“But all you say is ‘good luck I’m really happy for you’ but actually you are dying inside and want to tell them all the things you miss about them and why they should stay with you - so just a really happy song for the summer!”
Lewis dated the reality TV star on and off from 2014 to 2016.
The singer debuted his romance with Ellie at the BRIT's, where they attended Universal's after party at 180 The Strand in London, following his performance of smash-hit Forget Me.
Onlookers couldn't get over how close the couple looked, with one saying the singer "couldn't keep his hands off" his new girlfriend, who was reportedly seen kissing her boyfriend on a sofa at the bash.

“They sat on the sofa kissing and talking for awhile before Lewis headed off to the dance floor. They make a lovely couple," the onlooker told The Sun.
It seems Ellie and Lewis have been dating for a while, with the model sharing a string of videos and pictures of the Scottish singer on her Instagram as far back as December.
In one clip, Lewis looks delighted with life as he hikes in the rain in Scotland, while in another, Ellie shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the singer's gig in Dublin.
