Emmerdale character 'to expose Caleb's identity' after cryptic phone scene

Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan may need to watch his back, as Thursday's episode revealed a character was on to him.

Suzy Merton could soon unravel his true identity and his reasons for being in the village, amid his new romance with her pal Leyla Harding.

She offered Caleb a warning on Thursday, making it clear she wasn't happy with the romance after he recently messed Leyla around.

But it's when she clocked something odd on his phone leading to him having to flee the house suddenly that viewers saw Suzy looking very concerned.

She appeared to be suspicious of him and his motives for being with Leyla, even more so when she saw a mystery caller ringing his phone.

It was recently revealed that Caleb is the secret son of her ex-husband Frank Tate, and Caleb believes he is the rightful heir to Home Farm and Kim's fortune.

He and his secret son Nicky, the Home Farm nanny, are working together to bring down Kim and take everything she has.

Kim stole money from Frank after his death and hid assets, while Frank was also the original owner of Home Farm when he lived there with Kim and his children Chris and Zoe.

Caleb is keen to get everything he can and leave her with nothing, and on Thursday night fans saw him step up his revenge plan.

Amidst the plan, he's found a distraction in Leyla after striking up an unexpected romance with the villager.

The romance left his son Nicky furious, given they had one focus for being in the village.

But it wasn't just Nicky who was unimpressed, especially after Caleb recently dumped Leyla before asking for another chance.

Suzy made her feelings clear to Caleb and warned him off, telling him Leyla has been through too much to be hurt again.

Then, as someone called 'A' rang Caleb's phone she seemed confused and suspicious over his mystery contact.

The suspicion only got bigger when Caleb looked worried about the call and suddenly got up and left without saying goodbye to Leyla.

Caleb told Suzy he had to go and fled, leaving her with a puzzled expression on her face.

Later, as Leyla told her to stay quiet about their romance, Suzy warned she was "too trusting" and that he was a "massive red flag" - adding she will keep an eye on him

So does this mean Suzy will start looking into Caleb and his odd behaviour, and could she find out who he is?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
