Meghan Markle skipping King's Coronation is 'inspirational', says GMB guest
Meghan Markle is an "inspiration" for skipping King Charles' coronation in May, according to a guest on Good Morning Britain.
Academic Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu appeared on the ITV programme in an effort to support the Duchess of Sussex's decision not to attend the royal event.
She claimed Meghan has the "self-worth" to "say no to the most powerful family in Britain".
Meghan announced on Wednesday that she would not be attending the historic celebration with her two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet and instead husband Prince Harry will go alone.
On GMB, Dr Shola said: "I think Meghan's decision to say no to the most powerful family in Britain and to say no to the most talked about party in town is both admirable and inspiring.

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu defended Meghan's decision (ITV)"What Meghan is doing is exercising the power of no that comes from a place of self-worth, growth, maturity and self preservation."
The lawyer admitted she doesn't think Meghan turned down the invite because she "didn't feel welcome".
"I think that any wife out there that has bad in-laws like Meghan has with the Royal Family can deduce that she has drawn a line in the sand," she added.
"She is saying I will attend royal events, but on my own terms. But what is more powerful is that Meghan is telling the whole world that I am rejecting any notion that because I married into the Royal Family I should be bait for toxicity, rage and abuse.
"She is saying to society as a whole: you don't get to tell me who I should be as a woman, as a mother and as a wife."

Prince Harry is set to attend on his own (PA)King Charles is reportedly disappointed that Meghan Markle and his grandchildren won’t attend his Coronation next month.
A source told The Sun : “The King is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his ‘darling boy’ will be at the Abbey.
"He wanted him there. It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation.”
The Duke of Sussex is expected to fly over from California in time for the event, which will take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6. He will leave his wife Meghan, and children, Archie, and Lilibet, back at their home in the US.
The event falls on the same day as Archie’s fourth birthday with sources claiming that is Meghan's main reason for staying behind.
