Britain's Got Talent 2023 start date confirmed and it's just days away

Britain's Got Talent's 2023 series start date has been confirmed and telly fans don't have long to wait.

ITV's hit reality TV programme is returning to screens on Saturday, April 15 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

The show is returning for its 16th series in just a few days time, ITV has announced.

The long-running talent show is due to return to screens in just a few days for it’s sweet sixteenth series - with Simon Cowell back as head judge and alongside Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

The second episode will be shown the next night with judges taking to the panel from 7.45pm on April 16 on ITV1 and STV.

It comes as former BBC Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli replaces David Walliams on the show.

David Walliams exited the show last year under a thundercloud of controversy - and former Strictly star Bruno has been drafted in as his replacement.

But the upcoming 2023 season of BGT has sparked complaints before it has even started airing after a prank left audience members in disgust.

Dance expert Bruno, 67, was victim of a savage prank on the stage of the show as he was lured into a stunt which left him thinking he had shot dead 63-year-old Simon with a crossbow.

Footage and photos have leaked form the set of BGT showing Simon lying motionless on stage while Bruno is seen looking shocked as he dashes over to check on the show boss.

And while medics also rush to the stage, it seems the whole incident was nothing more than a prank - while the audience screamed in shock.

Footage has circulated via social media from the incident - with a warning about ‘sensitive content’ automatically generating over TikTok footage of the incident.

The complaints came as Alesha Dixon reflected on scandal-hit David Walliams' departure for the first time.
