Arsenal remain top of the Premier League after another dramatic day at the top of the table.

Manchester City piled the pressure on the Gunners with a 4-1 win over Liverpool in the early kick-off - only for Mikel Arteta's side to respond by beating Leeds by the same convincing margin. There was a dream return for Gabriel Jesus and the win came in the absence of Bukayo Saka from the starting line-up due to illness in the week.

It was another big step towards the top flight crown for the Gunners - here's a look at the latest headlines from the Emirates after an important day in the title race.

Jesus back with a bang

Gabriel Jesus was back with a bang as Arsenal matched Manchester City's 4-1 victory on Saturday to restore their eight-point lead in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners swatted aside an improved Leeds outfit thanks to a brace from Jesus on his first start in nearly five months, and strikes from Ben White and Granit Xhaka. Rasmus Kristensen grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors but it never felt like an upset was on the cards in North London.

With a routine win, Mikel Arteta 's side maintained their comfortable lead at the summit following City City's 4-1 victory at home to Liverpool earlier on Saturday. Arsenal will face plenty of tougher challenges than this one, but the Gunners cleared their first hurdle in the final stretch of the campaign with ease to record their seventh successive league win.

Gunners pull off penalty trick

Gabriel Jesus got his opener from the penalty spot - but only after a few mind games from the Gunners.

As Leeds players surrounded the referee to debate the decision and VAR completed its checks, Martin Odegaard picked up the ball and stood on the spot ready to take the kick. However, as the chaos died down, he passed the ball to Jesus to step up leaving keeper Ilan Meslier with little time to prepare for what the Brazilian might do.

It was a cheeky tactic but one which worked a trick as the comeback kid made no mistake from 12 yards and set the Gunners on their way. It was another example of how the streetwise side are a different prospect this season under Mikel Arteta.

Ominous Man City title message

Arsenal might have avoided any slip-ups against Leeds - but the pressure was on after Manchester City's 4-1 win over Liverpool moments earlier.

And after that impressive City performance, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand sent Arsenal an ominous warning - that the pressure will keep being piled on for the remainder of the title race.

Ferdinand said on BT Sport: "That is exactly what Pep Guardiola would've wanted from his team. A sublime, dominant performance. That was a statement, and that was a signal to Arsenal, 'c'mon, what are you gonna do now?

"And that's how it's gonna be until the end of the season. It's going to be, 'we'll do our stuff', and they'll play at different times."
