Paul O'Grady's fans got emotional as they were reminded of his beloved dog Buster's death announcement.

The TV star death shocked fans when his husband announced that the 67-year-old passed away "unexpectedly" on Tuesday evening.

After hearing about his death, fans flocked to social media to pay tribute to him and share memories of the Lily Savage star.

Many paid tribute by tweeting that Paul has reunited with his late dogs Buster and Olga, with the pooches often making cameos on the late star teatime TV show.

In 2009, Paul announced the death of Buster during an episode of the The Paul O'Grady Show on Channel 4.

"He was riddled with cancer. He had cancer in his neck and his face and a tumour in his leg.

"The kindest thing for me to do was let him go but it was the worst thing I could ever do in my life but it had to be done because otherwise, it would have been selfish."

Buster died of cancer at the age of 14 and was best known for taking up a regular spot alongside the star on his show.

Fans were on Twitter paying tribute to Paul and made sure to mention his beloved dogs as well.
