Aaron Rodgers is a big fan of Lamar Jackson but had one key piece of advice for the one-time NFL MVP back in 2019 - cut back on running the ball.

Rodgers is a massive admirer of the 26-year-old and had a vital piece of advice for him following a Ravens-Packers pre-season game.

Jackson stole the show when he scrambled out of the pocket and ran 18 yards before jumping over a Green Bay defender into the end zone. However, the touchdown was nullified by wide receiver Willie Snead's illegal block. "I love watching you play, man," Rodgers told Jackson, per ESPN. "That was pretty spectacular."

"Have a great season. Slide a little bit," Rodgers added. Jackson replied while smiling and pointing at Rodgers: “I got you, baby.”

Both could now be on the move away from the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens respectively, with Rodgers and Jackson publicly declaring they want a trade.

Four-time MVP Rodgers, 39, told The Pat McAfee Show that he would like to join the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 season, while Jackson revealed he requested a trade away from the Ravens amid a contract dispute which has seen a non-exclusive franchise tag be slapped on him.

If a player on a non-exclusive tag agrees to a deal with a new team, the original team can match it or refuse and be awarded two first-round picks as compensation. Both will be massive assets to their teams for the new season, with Rodgers and Jackson undoubtedly having Super Bowl ambitions.

The Jets are desperate to get Rodgers through the door with the franchise 54 years without a Super Bowl. Jackson, meanwhile, will have many suitors and is said to be keen on a trade to the New England Patriots.

Jackson’s throwing ability, as well as his athleticism, makes him an attractive prospect - something Rodgers pointed out himself a number of years back. "Just being able to throw the ball at a high level, you make up for a lot of things," Packers quarterback Rodgers told the Pat McAfee Show. "Like, you look at Lamar, and as talented as Lamar is athletically - I mean the guy is one of the fastest guys in the league - but you watch him in college, and he could sling that thing. I mean he could really sling the ball. Big time arm."
