Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney showed their class yet again with an emotional on-field interview with match-winner Rosie Hughes after the women's side lifted the Genero Adran North title.

Hughes scored a late winner as Wrexham Women beat Connah's Quay 2-1 at The Racecourse Ground, with a new record attendance set for a women's game in Wales. Over 7,000 fans piled in to watch the women's side put in a stunning performance, and the owners made their way onto the pitch to congratulate the stars.

The game was also broadcasted live on Sgorio and S4C over in Wales, as Wrexham fever remains in full swing. Fans were already loving the performance, but the post-game interview with Reynolds and McElhenney was the icing on the cake.

Hughes was overwhelmed with emotion after the game, as was the reporter as everyone soaked up the atmosphere at The Racecourse Ground. "I mean In can't express it for you, it's really crazy and surreal experience because look around us," Hughes said.

Just as she said that, Reynolds and McElhenney arrived and joined the interview and fed off the emotion. "I can't imagine how she's feeling, it hit us, hit us pretty hard," Reynolds said.

The women's game is finally getting the attention that it deserves in the modern day, and Reynolds revealed that he had three daughters in attendance to watch Sunday's match. "I had three little girls watching today of my own," Reynolds added.

"They're really inspired, they love you (Hughes) and they love what you're doing and they're so proud of you like we are, and this is just incredible." The passion for Wrexham is at an all-time high, but McElhenney stated that it's always been there and he's happy they've been able to bring it back.

"It's always been here, and it's thanks to people like Rosie and the entire team," McElhenney said. "All we did is shine a little spotlight but you see it, the town showed up."

Hughes continued to reflect on the weight of their achievement, as she said: "I can't imagine that it's just happened to us, it won't set in until later on. We've just won, and scored in 12 out of 12 league games, I think it's the first time any team has done that, I'm so proud of the whole team."
