When you break up from a longterm partner there might be mixed emotions when you find out they have moved on to someone new.

One woman was shocked to find out her boyfriend had not only moved on from their relationship – but he was newly engaged to someone else. While this is the sort of information you might find out through mutual friends or a social media post, she found out from an awkward phone call from an Airbnb host.

Music producer Eleanor Fletcher took to TikTok to explain how she found out the shocking news that her ex boyfriend was engaged to someone new.

In a recent video, Eleanor, who is also the lead singer of Crystal Fighters, explained that a "random Airbnb host" had called her, saying she was staying at their vineyard, and asking if she wanted to use the hot tub at the facility because she was "engaged".

She explained that that she must be mistaken, because she isn't planning on staying at a vineyard, and adding that her name is Eleanor.

Apologetically, the woman on the phone went on to tell her the name of the actual booking – which was the name of her ex boyfriend.

Eleanor couldn't believe what she was hearing when the woman on the phone went on to ask: "Do you think him and his fiancée will be wanting the hot tub?".

In jest, Eleanor told her TikTok followers: "No, they will not be wanting the hot tub, they will not want breakfast, they will want a downgrade on the room. If I know him like I know him he will want the loudest room available, small as well. Smallest, loudest room available with zero hot tubs."

She then added: "Okay I'm joking about the very last bit, I'm actually genuinely very happy for them."

People flooded to the comment section, wondering how the Airbnb host got her number, to which Eleanor suggested it must have been linked to his account.

They also praised her for not "wreaking havoc" with the booking, suggesting she could have arranged "multiple" wake-up calls throughout the night.

However, Eleanor reassured her followers that they were on "good terms," so she wouldn't be arranging for any black roses to be left in the room.

Another person added: "You're a nicer person I'd have been!"

What would you have done in this situation? Let us know in the comment section below.
