Demand for holidays abroad is finally back to pre-Covid levels, a survey suggests.
After after the UK scrapped its remaining travel restrictions, 65% of people said that they are planning a foreign holiday in the next 12 months – and 37% have already booked it.
The survey, commissioned by travel trade body ABTA, found many travel agents and tour operators are reporting record sales, despite the cost of living crisis.
ABTA says craving for “freedom” is behind the rise.
It found 62% of people had taken a foreign holiday in the previous 12 months, up from 16% in 2021.

Since March 18 last year, arrivals have no longer needed to take any tests or complete any Covid forms, regardless of their vaccination status.
