A two-year-old boy who fell from an eighth-floor flat window is now in a stable condition, police have revealed.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, rushed to the scene following the incident at Cedar House in Sunbury, Surrey at around 3.50pm on Tuesday.
Surrey Police confirmed later that a two-year-old boy had been airlifted by South East Coast Ambulance (SECAmb) service to a nearby hospital, where he was described as being in a 'critical condition'.
In an update this morning, the force confirmed that the toddler remains in hospital but is now stable.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident at the block of flats remains ongoing.

Police say an investigation into the incident at Cedar House in Sunbury-upon-Thames remains ongoing (Twitter)A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "We were called to reports of a child who had fallen from the window of a block of flats on Spelthorne Grove in Sunbury at around 3.50pm on Tuesday afternoon (14 March).
"Officers attended along with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance service and a 2-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
"An investigation to establish circumstances remains ongoing."
Speaking last night, SECAmb confirmed paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to give any further details, as the incident took place at a private address.
A police cordon at the site was removed yesterday afternoon.
The tragic incident has prompted an emotional response from local residents, with one writing on a local Facebook group: "Poor little boy, hope he’ll be okay"
Another wrote "Thinking of this poor little boy and his poor family - get well soon little man", while a different commenter said: "The family must be worried sick. Every best wish to them and the little boy."
