Aaron Rodgers has done a lot of talking about his future in the NFL this off-season, but he's also made a prediction about his back-up Jordan Love who appears to be the Packers choice to replace Rodgers.

The quarterback made his highly-anticipated appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, with fans hoping he would finally announce for good where he will be playing next season. And Rodgers has dropped the news after all this time, saying he wants to move on from the Green Bay Packers and join the New York Jets.

During the discussion, Rodgers said: "They want to move on. And now, so do I." Rodgers called the situation "bittersweet", but hopes that Love will have a lovely future with the Packers in his absence.

"They want to move on. And now, so do I," Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show. "They don't want me to come back. They want to move on with Jordan.

"And that's awesome, and Jordan's going to be a great player. He's a f****** great kid, he had a really good year this year, he's getting better.

"He's got a bright future in front of him. They've got a bright young team." It's very much a team in transition though, as Allen Lazard also completed his move to the Jets on Wednesday, and now the Packers will be without Rodgers for the first time since 2005.

Rodgers has finally revealed his stance, and that is to play for the Jets and become their new franchise quarterback. However, Rodgers suggested that before his 'darkness retreat' last month, he was almost on the verge of retiring.

As he went into his four-day darkness retreat, Rodgers said he was 90 percent leaning towards retiring, and 10 percent of him wanted to play. But Rodgers added: "When I got out of the darkness, something changed."

And everything has changed since then too. The Packers have decided that it's time to move on from the veteran quarterback, and the Jets decided to go all-in to secure his services for the 2023 season.

“I love you, Green Bay," Rodgers said, as he spoke highly of the organisation and the fans. "Thank you. I’m as sad as some of you are."
