A mum has broken down in tears after online trolls attacked her baby's unique name - prompting Molly-Mae Hague to come to her defence. Social media star Liana Jade, from Enderby, welcomed a baby boy with her husband Connor in July last year - but faced backlash online after naming him Koazy.

American YouTubers Matt and Abby shared their thoughts on unusual names on their podcast, Unplanned Podcast, claiming many are "ridiculous" and "off the wall". While they didn't mention Liana Jade's son directly, a viewer brought up his name in the comments, sparking a deep discussion critiquing his name.

It prompted Liana Jade to upload her own video explaining to her eight million TikTok followers how they ended up settling on his unique name.

Speaking through tears, she said: "I don't know if I'm going to post this video. No hate but you might've seen that the couple Matt and Abby.

"I know it's just their opinion but they posted a clip on their TikTok and their YouTube shorts that they pulled out of their podcast, and they were talking about people naming their kids new, original names.

'They were saying how ridiculous some of these new unique names were. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea - but people have pulled it out of context saying we've called him Koazy because he was cosy in the womb - no."

During their podcast, Abby said: "I'm going to be honest with you, it does kind of bug me some of the names that are out there nowadays.

"So off the wall, I'm like, you know, your child is going to grow up and be an adult and potentially work in a professional setting."

In agreement, Matt added: "If you name your kid a name that's really cute for a kid, but then they don't have a name that can be an adult name - that is scary.

Following up on her previous comment, Abby added: 'And also some people are like, so proud of like, I don't know anyone named this name, and I'm naming my kid that and I'm like that might not be the flex that you think it is, that might be a red flag."

Since Liana Jade uploaded her video explanation, Matt and Abby have disabled the comments section on their YouTube Shorts video.

Liana Jade added: "It was a name we already had and as I was getting so heavily pregnant, people were saying ' Oh he was cosy in your belly'.

"It kind of confirmed to us that's what we should name him because we already had that name and people were saying it, so it was almost like it was meant to be.

"I wasn't trying to name him anything for a flex."

"Open comments section to allow all of these people who didn't like our baby name to just rip at it.

"It's really upset me. I knew everyone wasn't going to love the name so I'm not going to sit here defending it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

"But it's just different when there's this comments section open on such a big influencer's video of people, fully grown adults, just sat there slandering my baby's name.

"I think it's quite cruel and if I posted that video personally and I was going to express that opinion that I had, I think I would be very mindful of who was being named and how that could have an affect on other people."

Wanting to prove to Liana Jade that not everybody shares this opinion, ten of thousands of her followers flooded her comment second with their supportive words.

New mum Molly-Mae Hague, who recently came under public criticism for naming her daughter Bambi, said: "All that matters is that you and your partner love the name!"

Another user added: "Awh! Don't cry, we all love the name Koazy."

A third user said: "I honestly don’t know how people can attack babies! I love unusual names and I think Koazy is such an adorable name."

One more user added: "Koazy is such a sweet name, don't listen to them."
