You've been cooking bacon wrong – extra ingredient makes it extra crispy

If you're a big fan of bacon, and you like it to be crispy, then a pair of foodies have got a treat for you because you've probably not perfected your cooking method.

It can be a tricky balancing act getting bacon to the ideal level of crispiness - sometimes it seems like an impossible task. One minute it's looking delightful, you turn your back to butter your lightly toasted bread and suddenly it's burnt to a crisp. Not ideal.

Foodies @thechoppedcouple have shared a hack to change the way you cook your bacon though, and it's a real game-changer.

They captioned the video: "Do you flour your bacon? Creates perfectly crispy bacon for BLT's, by reducing the curling!"

The video shows a tray of raw bacon, with flour sprinkled over the top of it.

Then, after that has been shown, the bacon looks incredibly crispy and is placed on a piece of kitchen roll.

If you're a crispy bacon lover, it looks absolutely delicious, and will have many salivating at the idea of eating it.

And people in the comments were really impressed with the hack, with many having never considered using flour on their bacon before.

One suggested: "One part flour, one part black pepper, two parts brown sugar. Make a power in the blender. Put in a salt shaker. Shake on evenly before baking."

"Wow, can't wait to try", someone praised.

Another wrote: "Okay but I'd have to use a sifter, the bumps, and lumps are killing me. It's not evenly distributed."

"Small sprinkle of brown sugar too", a keen chef commented.

The Chopped Couple responded with: "OMG. I never knew there were so many ways to make bacon! Everyone has tips. Mind blown! So many ways to trial and enjoy."

Have you ever made crispy bacon using this method? Let us know in the comments.
