Tottenham striker Son Heung-min has warned Spurs will face their “biggest game of the season” against AC Milan.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte must turn around a 1-0 defeat from the first leg against the Italian champions as Tottenham battle to save their campaign. Their best chance of silverware went last week when Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup at Sheffield United but reaching the Champions League quarter finals would keep their season alive.

Son said: “I think it is too late to speak about one week good, one week bad. The most important thing is that we have the most important game of the season. We will prepare well and we have to bounce back because the last week has been really tough.

“We are all disappointed I know and we don’t want the fans to be disappointed. I think it was painful last week to get out of the FA Cup obviously. To be a good season, obviously we have to do our best in what we still have at the moment.

"We are still in the Champions League and we are fighting for top four. I think we can have a good season with the goals that we set up for the teams and only going for that way, so otherwise it is going to be really, really poor and very sad.

“So I think we know what we have to do for the rest of the season. I think the future is not important. Only the most important thing is tomorrow, then we can talk again about the future.

“This is really important, the players are looking forward to it under the lights in our stadium. I think we have to give everything to make the fans proud, the club proud and also make us proud.”

Spurs were unfortunate to come away from the San Siro with nothing to show for their efforts after missing a number of chances, while Brahim Diaz's seventh-minute goal proved to be the winner. Tottenham have been considerably better on home turf than they have been on the road this season, though, and will fancy their chances of progressing to the last eight.

Boss Conte is also returning to the dugout to provide a welcome boost after taking extra time off to recover following surgery to remove his gall bladder. He rushed back from his operation and was on the sidelines for the first leg, but remained in Italy after the game as he conceded he had "underestimated" the severity of the procedure he had been through.

Speaking ahead of the second leg, Conte said: "I have to still recover weight but for the rest I am OK. My feeling is good. I have a lot of energy. I will try to transfer my energy to my players because it is an important game for us."
