Chelsea will be desperately hoping that they can finally get back on track this weekend as they welcome Leeds to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are currently in the midst of a horrendous run of form under Graham Potter having won just three out of their last 18 games in all competitions. That has left the West London side marooned in mid-table.

Their defeat to Tottenham last weekend has left Chelsea 14 points off the pace in the race for the Champions League - a gap that they appear unlikely to overhaul before the end of the campaign. In the meantime, they are actually closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top four with just ten points separating them and 18th-placed Everton.

Things do not look any better at Elland Road for Leeds. Since the World Cup, the Yorkshire outfit have won on just three occasions and once in the Premier League - that being the 1-0 win over relegation rivals Southampton.

Junior Firpo proved to be the difference in that game as his solitary goal secured a slender win. They were not able to follow that up with an FA Cup win though having fallen to a 2-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Fulham.

Ahead of the clash with Leeds, Chelsea have been hit with a huge injury blow. Defender Thiago Silva has damaged ligaments in his knee and is not expected to return until next month at the very least.

The Brazilian has arguably been one of just few Chelsea players to not drop his standards this season so his absence will certainly be felt over the next few weeks. The weekend’s game also looks set to come too soon for the likes of N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic despite the pair stepping up their respective recoveries.

Long-term absentees Edouard Mendy and Armando Broja both remain ruled out. In better news however Cesar Azpilicueta and Mateo Kovacic could be called upon after returning to training.

On the Leeds front, new boss Javi Gracia is also dealing with a few problems. Rodrigo and Adam Forshaw are still some way off, whilst Stuart Dallas is restricted to the sidelines. Luis Sinisterra and Pascal Struijk could return this weekend.
