Jake Paul humiliated by referee's brutal question during Tommy Fury fight

Jake Paul was asked by the referee if he "wanted to fight" during his clash with Tommy Fury as the YouTuber fell to his first defeat.

Paul was ultimately beaten on points by the Love Island runner-up, despite knocking Fury down in the eighth and final round. And two rounds earlier, referee Hector Afu, who docked both fighters a point during the contest, stepped in to break up the two men and ask Paul: "Wanna fight?".

The punch stats show that Paul landed only seven of the 20 shots he threw in the sixth round, although that was an improvement on the two he landed in round four and the three which connected in the final session. The social media star was out-landed by Fury in each of the eight rounds.

The defeat by Fury brought an end to Paul’s perfect 6-0 record, which included bouts against the likes of ex-NBA player Nate Robinson as well as MMA fighters Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. The 26-year-old said: “I felt flat, I got sick twice in this camp and injured my arm. It wasn’t my best performance, but I’m not making excuses and I’ll come back stronger.

"All respect to Tommy – he won. I deserve a rematch, I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I’ve already won in life – I have an amazing family, amazing friends and I’ve made it further than I ever thought I would." Paul has since taken to social media to boast of earning $30million (£25m) from the fight - and vowed to learn from his defeat.

"To all my young fans, I love you," he wrote on social media. "Don’t be saddened by my loss. Life is full of ups and downs. You just have to learn from your failures and come back better. Hard work, hard work, hard work. I will be back.

"The business of the event was a massive success. Doesn’t mean I’m not emotionally hurt by the loss. But I am not going to sit here and sulk. I am going to use that hurt to fuel my path forward to never feel this way again."
