Romeo Beckham has been fined and given penalty points after police caught him using his phone while behind the wheel of his luxury sports car in central London.

The 23-year-old son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham was stopped by officers in Westminster last September.

A court heard that an officer spotted Beckham looking down at a mobile phone while waiting at traffic lights in his Porsche 911.

According to evidence presented in court, the officer first noticed an unsecured dog sitting on the lap of a female passenger before turning his attention to the driver.

In a statement, the officer said he observed Beckham with his head tilted down, appearing to look at a phone positioned low near the steering wheel.

He added that Beckham appeared to be scrolling on the device with his thumbs while stationary at the lights.

After pulling the vehicle over, the officer said he offered advice about the dog traveling unsecured in the car.

Police reportedly offered Beckham the opportunity to avoid prosecution by paying a fine and completing a driver awareness course. However, the court heard he failed to respond to the offer.

As a result, the case proceeded through the courts, with Beckham convicted after failing to enter a plea when contacted at his southwest London address.

At Westminster Magistrates’ Court last week, magistrates found Beckham guilty of being a driver not in a position to have proper control of his vehicle.

He was fined £440 and received three penalty points on his driving license.

The aspiring footballer was also ordered to pay £130 in court costs and a £176 victim surcharge.

Romeo, the second eldest of David and Victoria’s four children, previously followed in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a football career.

He spent time with the youth setups at clubs including Arsenal F.C. and later Inter Miami CF, the club co-owned by his father.

In recent years, he has increasingly stepped into the spotlight through modeling campaigns and high-profile fashion appearances, becoming a familiar face at events alongside his famous family.

The conviction comes after a difficult period for the Beckham family, who have faced intense public scrutiny over reports of tensions between family members in recent months.

Romeo’s driving infraction comes almost exactly seven years after his father was banned from driving for six months for using his mobile phone at the wheel.

He then pleaded guilty after being photographed by a member of the public holding a phone while he drove his Bentley in ‘slowly moving’ traffic.

The former footballer received six points on his license to add to the six he already had for previous speeding incidents.

He was also fined £750, ordered to pay £100 in prosecution costs and a £75 surcharge fee within seven days.
