A man is in critical condition after being attacked at a popular London tourist spot.
The victim, in his 40s, was assaulted by a group of about four men on South Bank early Sunday morning.
A police cordon is in place on the steps outside the Southbank Centre, near Waterloo Station, with forensic officers present.
He was knocked to the ground before being taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
No arrests have been made, but the investigation continues.
A Met Police statement said: “At around 00:15 am on Sunday, 14 June, officers responded to an assault report on Belvedere Road, South Bank.
“The victim, in his 40s, was attacked by a group of around four men, who knocked him to the ground before assaulting him. He was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
“No arrests have been made at this stage, and officers are conducting urgent enquiries.
