Goalkeeper Andrada sent off after shocking punch ignites chaos in Aragon derby

Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada sparked a mass brawl by sensationally Punching Huesca captain Jorge Pulido in the dying moments of a tense Segunda Division relegation battle.

Andrada lost control with Zaragoza trailing their bitter rivals 1-0 in the 99th minute of Sunday’s Aragon Derby.

Shortly after arguing with the referee as the official made his way across the touchline, the Argentine keeper shoved Pulido in the chest with both hands.

Pulido fell to the ground in a heap as the Estadio El Alcoraz erupted and several of his teammates stormed onto the pitch from the touchline.

Referee Damao Arcediano Monescillo didn’t hesitate to show Andrada a second yellow card and send him off.

But his issuing of a red card only enraged the keeper further.

A furious Andrada immediately ran away from the referee and headed towards Pulido.

And upon getting within arm’s reach of the 35-year-old, he struck him with a huge right hook.

Pulido was floored by the unexpected punch, which sparked absolute chaos.

Players from both sides joined in as substitutes and staff members streamed off the bench to get involved.

Thankfully, no other punches were thrown in the madness that followed.

Although Huesca goalkeeper Dani Jimenez was sent off for his reaction to his counterpart’s actions.

A seething Andrada was dragged off the pitch by his teammates but appeared to show no remorse for his actions.

Cameras captured Pulido raging at the cowardly attack.

And they later showed him nursing a nasty bruise around his left eye.

Andrada is almost certain to receive a lengthy suspension for his act of violence.

And it’s possible that the police might investigate the incident as a potential assault.

Huesca’s narrow victory over Zaragoza, which came courtesy of a second-half goal from Oscar Sielva, has given them new life in their bid to avoid relegation.

They’re just two points behind 18th-placed Cadiz, although The Yellow Submarine do have a game in hand.

Defeat, meanwhile, has left Zaragoza three points from safety in 21st place.
