18-year-old jailed after gun threat over wrong sauce at London takeaway

This is the shocking moment when a thug pointed a gun at a stunned chicken shop worker after receiving the wrong sauce.

Marwan Khadir, 18, became enraged after being given burger sauce instead of garlic mayo at the fast food shop in Penge, South London.

The teen was captured trying to clamber over the counter to attack the worker before whipping out the imitation firearm.

Khadir then pointed the realistic weapon at the victim, who was captured waving his hands around in fear.

He also threatened to shoot and kill the worker while still complaining about his order.

The thug then smacked the worker during the shocking attack on Christmas Eve last year.

Khadir has now been jailed for three years after he pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, making threats to kill and assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).

Woolwich Crown Court heard the teen had rowed with his local chicken shop worker as he demanded three garlic sauces and three mayonnaises.

The footage showed Khadir sat in his living room counting out the sauces before phoning the shop up and complaining.

He then burst back into the restaurant, shouting: “I asked for three garlic and three mayos… You gave me four burger sauces.”

The attack saw the worker assaulted repeatedly as Khadir tried to get back behind the counter.

Police tracked the yob down through CCTV and seized the replica gun Khadir used in the attack, as well as fake ammunition.

Detective Sergeant Amy Cross, who led the investigation, said: “The tireless work by officers on this case over the Christmas and New Year period is further evidence that policing never stops, and their efforts ultimately led to a conviction.

“All our thoughts continue to remain with the victim of this terrifying ordeal, something no one should ever have to go through, let alone at their place of work. The strength he has shown since the attack has been remarkable.

“On top of this, the courage he demonstrated in coming forward and reporting the assault was incredibly brave. He was then able to subsequently identify the perpetrator, a crucial moment in allowing us to move the investigation forward.”
