Eleven killed and 12 wounded in mass shooting after football match in Mexico

At least 11 people were killed and 12 others, including children, were wounded after armed attackers opened fire following a football match in Mexico, according to Reuters.

The shooting took place after a local game and caused panic among spectators and residents. The injured were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, several of them in serious condition.

Mexican authorities said the attack is believed to be linked to criminal gangs fighting for control of the region. Officials said such groups frequently target public gatherings as part of their efforts to intimidate rivals and local communities.

An investigation is under way, and security forces have been deployed to the area as part of a broader crackdown on organised crime.
