A man has died after falling from a balcony at a popular holiday park, following reports that he lost his footing.

Bartosz Urbaniak, 29, suffered brain trauma after falling to the ground at the Big Weekender event at Skegness Butlins. Witnesses claim the father-of-one tried to climb from one balcony to another before falling to his death.

A trainee nurse at the event rushed to give him CPR until the air ambulance arrived during the incident that occurred around 12:15 pm on September 28.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but despite the medics’ best efforts, he tragically died two days later. His girlfriend later paid an emotional tribute to Bartosz, describing him as having “the biggest heart and soul.”

She said: “Saying goodbye to you for the very last time was something I never imagined I’d have to do. You had the biggest heart and a soul far too kind for this world. Please watch over Layton, he’s your mirror, your legacy, and he carries your light in everything he does.

“Until we meet again, know that you’ll always be loved, missed, and remembered. Life will never be the same without you, but we’ll keep your memory alive and make you proud. Fly high, my love.”

Last month, Greater Lincolnshire Coroner opened an inquest into his death, with the cause given as a traumatic brain injury alongside multiple other traumatic injuries resulting from a fall from a third-floor balcony, reported the Mail.

Footage showed an air ambulance attending the scene, which was posted online, and people commented on the tragic incident, including one person who claimed that Bartosz had fallen from a "reasonable" height, while another recounted how a member of the public had given him CPR.

Kirsty Bradberry, who witnessed the emergency services response, said: "The air ambulance landed in the apartment block next to me and my friends! So sad that it seems he has passed, thoughts go out to his family and friends x."

Lincolnshire Police also reportedly said they were called after a report was made for the man’s safety at 12:14 pm on September 28, and the death is not being treated as suspicious as he was believed to have suffered a medical episode following the fall. The Mirror has contacted Butlins for comment.
