A former British Army sergeant major has been sentenced to six months in jail for sexually assaulting a teenage soldier, who later took her own life.

Warrant Officer Michael Webber pleaded guilty after assaulting 19-year-old Gunner Jaysley Beck during a team-building exercise in July 2021.

The Army has apologized for the way it handled her complaint after she reported the assault.

Jaysley’s mother told this program the army was not safe for girls.
