Murder investigation launched after man in his 20s dies in Wolverhampton

Cops have launched an urgent murder probe after a man in his 20s died following a horrific attack.

The man was tragically confirmed dead after being taken to the hospital with serious injuries at around 1:30 am yesterday in Wolverhampton.

Police believe he was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road in Blakenhall yesterday.

West Midlands Police have taped off parts of the area and officers are conducting house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.

Forensic officers have been pictured searching a park and car park after an urgent murder investigation was launched.

Patrols have also been increased in the wake of the tragic fatal attack, said the force.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’ve started a murder investigation after a man has tragically died after being attacked in Wolverhampton.

“We were alerted to a man in his 20s being taken to hospital with serious injuries at around 1:30 am today (22 October).

“Sadly, he was confirmed dead a short time later and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this deeply distressing time.

“Following prompt enquiries, we now believe he was attacked in a car park off Dudley Road.

“We’re in the early stages of our investigation and a scene remains in place there while we carry out CCTV, house-to-house, and other enquiries in the area.
