Ex-NYC Mayor Giuliani hospitalized following crash after ’assisting domestic violence victim’

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was seriously injured in a freak car accident in New Hampshire on Saturday night, a rep said.

Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized with a fractured vertebrae and multiple cuts and bruises, including injuries specifically to his left arm and lower leg, after his rent-a-car was hit from behind, spokesman Michael Ragusa said Sunday.

“Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” said Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security.

“The accident occurred after he re-entered his vehicle, which was then hit from behind at high speed.”

The former mayor was a passenger in a Ford Bronco being driven by Theodore Goodman of Michigan at the time of the roughly 10 p.m. crash, New Hampshire State Police said.

As police were responding to the domestic-violence incident on Interstate 93, the Bronco was struck in the back by a Hondo HR-V driven by 19-year-old Lauren Kemp of Concord, and both vehicles ended up barreling into the median, cops said.

Giuliani, Goodman and Kemp were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No charges were filed in the incident.

Ragusa said on X that “no one knew it was [Giuliani]” in the rental.

The rep said Giuilani, who was mayor from 1994 through 2001, is recovering and in good spirits.

“The mayor is in great spirits. He’s a beast. He survived 9/11,” Ragusa said.

He said Giuliani — dubbed “America’s mayor’’ for guiding the city through the Twin Towers horror — is expected to remain in the Manchester-area hospital for another two or three days and then wear a brace for the broken vertebrae.

Giuliani’s son Andrew told The Post of his dad, “Thank Goodness he’s doing OK.

“Fractured vertebrae. More to come … Please keep him in your prayers,” Andrew said.

Giuliani’s business partner, Maria Ryan, who is also a nurse practitioner, is helping to oversee his care.

“He’s getting further tests and stabilization of his injuries,” she told The Post.

Giuliani was a two-term mayor and a former presidential candidate and ex-personal lawyer to President Trump.
