Hamburg resident accused of stealing over two tons of coffee from factory

Hamburg police reported that a 31-year-old factory employee systematically stole and resold coffee.

Earlier this week, he was detained after officers found about half a ton of freshly roasted coffee packed in one-kilogram bags in his car.

Searches of his apartment and two garages uncovered another 1,900 kilograms of coffee, more than €20,000 in cash, and a high-end wristwatch believed to be proceeds of the crime.

The suspect was released pending investigation, but his car remains confiscated.
