Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed at Imperial Wharf station.
Police officers were called to the railway station shortly after 5.20pm on Wednesday, 18 June, following reports of an assault. Emergency services attended, and a 20-year-old man was treated at the scene for injuries consistent with a stabbing.
He was taken to hospital with injuries described as potentially life-changing and currently remains there. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.
Detective Sergeant Marc Farmer said: “There is absolutely no place for violence on the railway network, and detectives are working at pace to investigate this incident. Passengers will see an increased police presence at the station while officers carry out their enquiries.
“We know the station was busy at the time of the incident and many people may have seen what happened or the events leading up to it, so we are urging anyone with information to get in touch and assist us with our enquiries.”
