Body discovered on popular UK beach as police launch investigation into death

A body has been discovered near a beach, prompting a swift response from police.
Officers were called to the scene at 10:25am on June 1 following reports of the grim find.

Reports came in from Parton Beach, in West Cumbria.

A police spokesperson told the News and Star that the death is being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious".

They added: "The case is now with the coroner."
