U.S. President Donald Trump has pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley — a reality TV couple who were sentenced in 2022 to lengthy prison terms for financial crimes and fraud.

The couple were convicted of conspiring to defraud banks of more than $30 million and committing multiple tax offenses, including attempts to deceive the IRS, reports by CNN.

On May 27, Trump adviser Margo Martin posted a video on X showing Trump calling the couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, to inform her of the decision to pardon her parents.

“This is terrible. But it’s wonderful because your parents are going to be free and clear, and hopefully we can get it done by tomorrow. I don’t know them, but give them our respect,” Trump said.

Also visible in the video was Alice Johnson, whom Trump pardoned during his first term and who now serves informally as the “Queen of Pardons.”

White House spokesperson Harrison Fields commented that the president is “always happy to give deserving Americans a second chance,” especially those “unfairly and excessively prosecuted by an unjust justice system.”

Last July, Savannah Chrisley spoke at the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin. She has also been involved in Trump’s re-election campaign as part of the “Trump Women’s Tour” and recently appeared on Lara Trump’s Fox News show to discuss her parents’ conditions.

The Chrisleys rose to fame through their reality series Chrisley Knows Best. They were found guilty in June 2022 but maintain their innocence and are appealing the convictions.
