The Indian Navy successfully tested BrahMos anti-ship cruise missiles in the Arabian Sea. The missile launches are taking place amid the possibility of a war with Pakistan.

The missiles were launched from ships of various classes, including the Kolkata-class destroyers and the Nilgiri and Krivak-class frigates.
Pakistan declared a no-fly zone over the Arabian Sea and issued a warning about live-fire exercises amid reports of preparations for testing a new missile.
"Successful anti-ship missile tests demonstrate the readiness of all platforms, systems, and crews to deliver precision strikes at long ranges. India is ready for combat, defending the country’s maritime interests anytime and anywhere," the Indian Navy stated on social media platform X.
The statement from the Indian military followed a recent terrorist attack in the mountainous border village of Pahalgam in the disputed region of Kashmir on April 22. The attack resulted in 26 deaths, and India claims that Pakistan was behind the assault.
In response to the attack, India suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, decided to expel all Pakistani diplomats by April 27, and closed the borders. In retaliation, Pakistan suspended all bilateral agreements with India.
Additionally, the Pakistani army may have moved self-propelled artillery closer to Kashmir and the Indian border. Footage from the scene showed a convoy of platforms passing by pastures, with around 20 howitzers visible on the platforms.
