The UK Ministry of Defence has successfully tested a new type of electronic weapon designed to combat drones, which could potentially be used in modern warfare, including in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
The weapon, called “RapidDestroyer,” uses a powerful radio frequency to disable drone electronics from a distance.
During a recent test, two swarms of eight drones were neutralized. In total, more than 100 drones have been destroyed as part of the project.
This type of weapon emits a wide beam of energy capable of downing multiple UAVs at once. According to experts, this makes the weapon highly effective against “drone swarms.” However, it may be less suitable for protecting infrastructure, such as airports.

The publication noted that the U.S. Navy has announced plans to test a powerful microwave weapon known as the "Meteor" project in 2026, which is capable of shooting down anti-ship ballistic missiles.
