Three men have been arrested after a triple stabbing on a busy London high street.

Police and paramedics were called to the A3 Clapham High Street, at the junction with Bedford Road, not long after 9pm on Thursday.

One man was found injured at the scene, and he was taken to a major trauma centre.

Two more men later went to hospital, and their injuries have been described as non-life threatening or life-changing.

All three men have now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Metro: ‘On Thursday, April 10 police were called to Clapham High Street following reports of a stabbing.

A section of the A3 Clapham High Street remains cordoned off this morning following a triple stabbing that occurred late last night, with one person arrested in connection with the attack. Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of Clapham High Street, between Bedford Road (Clapham North Station) and Aristotle Road, shortly after 9:15 PM on Thursday, 10 April. The incident, which unfolded under the railway bridge, drew a heavy police presence, with Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service responding swiftly. ‘Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated one man on scene for stab wounds before taking him to hospital.

‘Two further men self-presented at hospital. Their injuries have been confirmed as non-life threatening or life-changing.

‘They have all been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing.’

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: ‘We were called at 9.09pm on Thursday to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Clapham High Street and Bedford Road, SW4.

‘We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

‘We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Our first paramedic arrived in four minutes.

‘We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.’
