Thinking of a name for your baby can be one of the most difficult jobs you have as a parent. You want something that is unique but not so much so that they wound up getting bullied later in life. But one soon-to-be mum has faced a huge backlash from other parents after she explained that she wanted to call her daughter a unique name with some even saying this would be setting her up for torment.

The woman said her and the baby's dad had been thinking of names for months but could not agree on one until they managed to think of this one.

Taking to the 'Am I Being Unreasonable?' forum on Mumsnet, she explained: "I am currently eight and a half months pregnant, myself and my partner have been going back and forth on names for a while until we agreed on this around two months ago."

She went onto explain that the name they had decided on was Halo.

"The name we would like to use for our girl is Halo. Our baby's surname will be Raye," said the soon-to-be mum.

However, she then asked the forum what they thought of the name and many were not afraid to hold back on their views.

One person wrote: "I've said the name a couple of times out loud and I must admit it is a bit of a mouthful, so I think it would be a no from me."

While another person stated: "Don't be daft!"

A third penned: "No offence, but definitely no."

Somebody else added: "Your setting that kid up for a life of torment."

However, not everyone disagreed with the choice of name as one wrote: "I think halo has the potential to be a cool name. It conjures up images of gold, light and angels, which is nice for a girl in my opinion."

While another said: "I love it!"
