A murder inquiry has been launched after a man in his 20s was shot dead on a housing estate in Wolverhampton.

Police were called to Eastfield Grove at about 3.20pm yesterday.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

MP for Wolverhampton South East, Pat McFadden said he was “shocked” to hear of the shooting in his constituency.

He said in a post on X: ‘Investigations are at an early stage. I would encourage anyone with any information that might be relevant to contact the police.’

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘Enquiries are ongoing into a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Wolverhampton this afternoon.
