A McDonald’s customer has told how he looked into his takeaway bag and found thousands of dollars in cash.
Preparing to tuck into his McMuffin, Josiah Vargas opened up his McDonald’s takeaway and was stunned to find a “couple thousand dollars” he said in a TikTok video.
He went to the unnamed local McDonald’s drive-thru and picked up his bag of food and headed off.
But then while sitting in a car, the video showed him explaining how he was given a huge wad of cash along with his food in the McDonald’s bag.
He said how he was then going to have to return the money to the fast food restaurant.

His TikTok video has now gone viral (dookiedoeboy/TikTok)"I went to McDonald’s and they handed me my sausage McMuffin in this bag. What’s in this bag? Their f–king deposits,” Josiah said. “Why, just a couple thousand dollars here. Like what is this? Why would they do this?
“Now I have to return this because I’m a good person, I guess. How interesting. Why would you guys do this to me? You know how bad I want this money!"
And in the video, which has over 900,000 views, he is seen returning to the restaurant.
“Why would you guys do this to me? Do you know how bad I want this money?” he was saying as he got out of his car.
Then when he gave over the money he joked if they were laundering money, while a relieved member of staff said “Oh my God” and another said they wanted to give him a hug.

He said he was given a $200 reward (dookiedoeboy/TikTok)“They were just all hugging me and thanking me and crying, and I get free McDonald’s for a month, I guess,” Vargas said while claiming that he was given a $200 reward.
"Do good people! Return $5,000 and get $200 and free McDonald's for a month. Good trade value," he stated.
Then in a follow-up video, Josiah said that no one recognised him when he returned for another takeaway.
"They put my name down and my number, and I had to pay for my two McChickens and a Sprite, which is fine" he said. "I'm not too worried about it."
Many people have commented on the video with some praising him for his good deed and others saying they would not have given it back.

“Nah I’m McKeeping that,” another user said and a further added: “Yeah I’m not giving the money back, McDonalds will be ok,”
