Meghan Markle and Princess Kate looked like they were going to become very close friends, but things all changed just days before Meghan married Prince Harry.
Reports emerged of a heated interaction between Meghan and the Princess of Wales, just days before the Sussexes tied the knot. It was reported that Meghan had left Kate in tears after making comments about Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress.
During a dramatic interview with Oprah Winfrey three years later, however, Meghan sensationally claimed it was actually the other way around. Meghan shocked viewers as she told the host Kate had said there was a "problem" with her daughter Princess Charlotte's dress.

She told Oprah: "A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining - yes, the issue was correct - about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings."
Meghan added: "Everyone in the institution knew it wasn't true. I am not sharing that piece about Kate to be in any way disparaging about her. I would hope that she would want that to be corrected."
When Oprah tried to get more information, Meghan stated it would not be fair to go into further details as the Princess of Wales had apologised. Meghan said she has forgiven Kate, stating that she is a "good person".
The Duchess of Sussex also said Kate had sent her a peace offering to try and rectify the situation. Meghan explained: "She brought me flowers and a note, apologising. And she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right, to just take accountability for it."

They said while the issues raised were "concerning", "some recollections may vary". The statement continued: "They are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members."
It's since been claimed Princess Kate pushed for the line "some recollections may vary" to be included in the response. A new edition of Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown by Valentine Low claimed she had a key role in the statement.
A source told the author the Royal Family originally planned on releasing "a much milder" version of the statement. Prince William supported his wife's decision, with the source saying: "They were both of one mind that we needed something that said that the institution did not accept a lot of what had been said."
Another source said: "It was Kate who clearly made the point, 'History will judge this statement and unless this phrase or a phrase like it is included, everything that they have said will be taken as true'."
