England all-rounder Will Jacks left fans and commentators alike stunned after taking an outstanding catch on the boundary during the SA20 clash between the Joburg Super Kings and the Pretoria Capitals.

After Gerald Coetzee flicked a low full toss from Eathan Bosch towards the deep midwicket boundary that looked set to go for six, Jacks managed to nonchalantly pluck the ball out of the air one-handed.

The 24-year-old somehow clung onto the ball and then ensured his momentum did not carry him over the boundary. "My goodness gracious me, that has been taken," exclaimed commentator Mike Haysman. "[Super Kings coach Stephen] Fleming can't believe it, we can't believe it up here in the commentary box. That's a joke."

"You can't be serious, you cannot be serious. He's just plucked that out of the air so nonchalantly," added fellow commentator Shaun Pollock. "I thought 'there's no way he's going to get hold of that'. That was simply brilliant by Jacks."

West Indies legend Darren Sammy added: "No way, that had six written all over it." Former England cricketer James Taylor, who was known for taking stunning catches at short leg, wrote on Twitter : "Sooo good!!! He's got some serious skills"

"This is absolutely obscene", tweeted one fan. "Woooow so nonchalantly taken," added another. Despite Jacks' stunner, his Capitals side ultimately lost the match by six runs with Leus du Plooy scoring an unbeaten 75 and Aaron Phangiso taking 4-32 for the Super Kings.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis spoke about the importance of the new competition to South African cricket. "I think it's almost a non-negotiable in today's cricket," Du Plessis told Betway.

"It's become such an important aspect of today's T20 and the fact that we have a competition now that will pull all these international stars is tremendous. It gives younger guys the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best players in the world, it will fast-track their learning and it will make the domestic system stronger."
