Gary Goldsmith suggests Kate Middleton avoids him and spills about relationship
Gary Goldsmith has suggested his niece, Kate Middleton, 'avoids' him as he settles into life in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The younger brother of Kate's mum, Carole, 58, made his debut on the ITV reality show on Monday and has already divided viewers with his appearance. Fellow housemate, Louis Walsh, was desperate to glean some palace secrets and wasted no time in getting to know Gary in the kitchen, hoping he'd dish some gossip.
When asked about his relationship with Kate, Gary said: "It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times, and she’s got children and I love the fact that she’s putting family first.” The businessman has spoken openly of his pride for his niece and told Louis he thinks she and Wiliiam are the "saviours of the Royal family". However, he then admitted the future Queen and her siblings call him "buncle" as he opened up about the curious moniker.

"Have you heard of a buncle?," Gary continued. "Bad uncle, apparently every family has them."
Since agreeing to take part in Celebrity Big Brother, Gary has come under a lot of flack from viewers, who don't think he should be on a reality TV show, particularly in light of Kate's condition as she recovers from 'planned abdominal surgery'. However, Gary told Louis he never asked to have the spotlight on him as he said: "I didn’t vote for it, it happened to me."

The father-of-one is currently odds-on favourite to leave the house with a whopping 51% of negative social media comments aimed at him. Gary is already at risk of eviction this week and is now a long shot at 14/1 to win the show, says BetVictor Casino. One unimpressed viewer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: "Gary Goldsmith should be ashamed of himself. He's in that house to make money off his family ties." Another echoed: "There always has to be someone who is related to the royal family in the house, but why does it have to be Gary Goldsmith."

However, others reckon Gary was exactly the kind of energy the Celebrity Big Brother house needed. "Everyone hates on Gary Goldsmith but I think he's lovely. He can't help that he's related to Kate Middleton guys - and he speaks so highly of her. Love his energy," they enthused.
Before heading into the famous house, the multi-millionaire, who has been married four times, explained he went on the show to fulfil a goal for himself ahead of turning 60. He also insisted he isn't the "bad guy" and hopes that viewers can change their preconceived perception of him.
