A 12-year-old girl was found dead in her bedroom after filming a sick TikTok challenge.

Milagros Soto filming the whole incident for the online 'blackout challenge' after reportedly being sent a link to the challenge in a WhatsApp message.

The game is also referred to as the 'choking challenge' and the 'pass-out challenge'.

The victim's aunt Laura Luque told local media that a video exists of the whole incident and believes that someone encouraged the youngster to take part in it

Laura said her niece, who was allegedly being bullied at school, tried the challenge twice before tragically dying on the third occasion, after something went wrong.

The young girl reportedly choked to death at her home in the city of Capitán Bermúdez, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, on January 13.

Laura said: "We are inconsolable. We gave her so much love. I believe someone encouraged her to do it."

Laura said her niece received the link to carry out the challenge in a WhatsApp chat.

She stated: "We have many doubts about everything that happened to her. She was a very smart girl.

"She suffered a lot with bullying. She told us no one wanted her at school because she was pretty with blonde hair."

A spokesperson for School 223 Tte. Gral. Pablo Ricchieri, where the victim attended, said: "We support our student's family in this terrible moment."

The school added that little Milagros was a "great student, friend, sweet, good, and kind".

An investigation into the girl's death is ongoing.
