The FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Liverpool will take place on Sunday, March 17, it has been announced.

The match, which will see the two arch-rivals collide for a place in the competition's last four, will kick off at 3:30pm and be shown live on ITV.

ITV will also broadcast Wolves meeting with Coventry City at Molineux. The BBC will show Chelsea's meeting with Championship leaders Leicester City and Newcastle's trip to holders Manchester City.

The Magpies will travel to the Etihad to face Pep Guardiola's side, who beat Manchester United in last year's final, on Saturday, March 16 at 5:30pm. Chelsea host Leicester in the early kick-off the following day (12:45pm), while Wolves and Coventry will play out the first tie of the weekend on the Saturday at 12:15pm.

Manchester City are heavily fancied by many to retain the trophy after they booked their spot in the final eight with a thumping 6-2 win over Premier League rivals Luton Town in midweek.

Liverpool also caught the eye in the fifth round courtesy of Jurgen Klopp's young guns. A brace from teenage striker Jayden Danns was the talking point in their 3-0 win over Southampton - a result which sets up a showdown with United, who edged past Forest.

Chelsea eventually overcame Leeds in an enthralling match at Stamford Bridge which ended 3-2, while Wolves beat Brighton at Molineux. Newcastle won a tense penalty shootout against Blackburn to book their quarter-final spot. Championship duo Leicester and Coventry qualified after beating Bournemouth and Maidstone United respectively.
