A jockey who has been in an induced coma since being seriously injured in a riding accident has begun to open her eyes.
Chelsey Reynolds, 29, has been fighting for her life since she was airlifted to hospital in Adelaide, Australia, following an incident which occurred while she was working a horse at a private training facility on February 13.
The week before, Reynolds had been named best first year apprentice at Racing South Australia's apprentice awards.
Regular updates on her condition have been posted by Racing SA on behalf of her family.
Last week her condition was described as critical but stable after Reynolds underwent craniotomy surgery to relieve pressure on her brain.

The latest bulletin from the regulator said: “Chelsey remains in intensive care at the Flinders Medical Centre where she is being treated for a serious head injury.
“Her sedation levels are being reduced and she is opening her eyes but not yet responding.
“Chelsey’s family have told us that her recovery is going to be long and slow, but that she will continue to have all the care and love she needs.
“They have also asked us again to thank the community for all their messages of support and that their privacy continues to be respected during this tough time.”
Reynolds rode a winner from her first ride at Balaklava in July last year and has a career total of seven wins from 52 rides.
