The brother of Tou Ger Xiong, 50, a Hmong activist and comedian, who went to Medellin, Colombia, in December of 2023 for a holiday and ended up kidnapped and murdered, recalled the disturbing phone call between him and his sibling.
On Sunday, he planned to go out with a woman he had just met online. But during the date, a group of men suddenly attacked him. They held him hostage and demanded $2,000 from his family and friends for his release.
His family contacted the police to try and save him, but were unable to do so. Now, Eh Xiong spoke to The U.S. Sun about what happened during the phone call.
Eh said that Ger was completely calm when he called, and the phone call wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Eh explained that Ger calling to ask for a wire transfer was normal, as Ger was a day trader who sometimes couldn't access all the same payment apps when abroad.

The activist and comedian was murdered while out on a date in Colombia (Tou Ger Xiong/ Facebook)According to Eh, he was boarding a flight himself and sent the money his brother asked for before he got on, but he didn't think much of it when he didn't receive a confirmation from his brother.
The next day, Eh got a call from a third sibling asking if he heard from Ger. After relaying their conversation, the oldest brother began to explain the situation to Eh. When Eh was told that their brother was being held at gunpoint, he couldn't believe it.

"If you have a thousand faults, he'll never find them. If you have a single good thing, he'll find it. He sees the very best in you.
Tou Ger Xiong posted pictures of himself with girlfriends before being kidnapped and murdered on a date with a woman he met online. Xiong was seen smiling with an unnamed redhead during dinner at a restaurant in Medellin on October 20.

In the video posted on Facebook, the victim showed off his soup before panning to his dinner partner. It is also not known if the woman in the picture had anything to do with his fatal kidnapping this week. On December 10, he made plans to go out with a woman he just met online but during the date he was ambushed by a group of men.
There is no suggestion the mystery redhead or any of the other women he was pictured with are connected to the comedian's death. In another video, which appears creepy when watched in hindsight, a smiling Mr Xiong stood between two women and joked in the caption: “In the event I get kidnapped, don’t look for me. I am happy.”
