He couldn't understand what she was using so many batteries for.

There's nothing more frustrating than sitting down in front of the TV and realising your TV remote batteries have run out. But for one husband, the battery shortage in his own home was so severe that he started stockpiling his own 'secret stash' for his Xbox controller.

Taking to the internet, he flummoxed husband told how his wife uses up batteries like they're "going out of fashion", admitting he couldn't imagine what she was doing that would need so many.

He shared the revelation on the anonymous X, formerly known as Twitter page @Fesshole, where he wrote: "My missus uses AA batteries like it's going out of fashion. I have my own secret stash for my Xbox controller."

However, fellow X users cringed at his anonymous post with many wondering "Who's going to tell him?" He was flooded with responses from people telling him he should give his wife a little more attention instead of devoting himself to his games console.

One X user penned: "Maybe if you weren't playing Xbox all the time, she wouldn't need batteries for her entertainment," while a second added: "Spend less time on the Xbox and she wouldn't need them."

One simply asked: "Who's going to tell him?" and another flipped the situation and wrote: "My fella uses AA batteries like they're going out of fashion. I have a secret stash for my vibrators."

Others offered some more useful advice and recommended using rechargeable batteries so he and his wife wouldn't run out. "They are out of fashion. You can both get USB rechargeables now," one person replied, while someone else said: "Highly recommend rechargeable batteries. They last years, and recharging only takes a couple of hours. We just rotate them with 4 spares. We first bought them in 21, and are still green on the battery checker. Just buy them gradually as old batteries die."
